sunday was the BIG alameda flea market. it was the PERFECT day. the weather was warm and sunny. the smell of hot dogs graced the air. and it was NOT crowded, as it was super bowl sunday (whatever THAT means).

heads up.
yesterday i went to the big alameda flea market. what a beautiful day it was and the market was just swarming with hunters and gatherers. there was a trail of cars that started from the bay bridge and ended at the flea market. it was like a line of ants marching towards a sugar cube. and though it was a fun day, i wasn't finding many treasures. to me, most of the junk seemed like bad junk, not good junk.
but i did manage to score these little babies with their appendages still intact.

down to the wire.
these are my new-old-rusty-wired treasures from the alameda flea market today. i went in search of some new displays for merchandising my wares at the palo alto clay & glass festival in july. i love that you can find ANYTHING you could possibly need or want at that flea market. i also needed a cow bell for a different purpose (a grand event in august), and i found, what i believe to be, the one-and-only cow bell at the market today ! . . . and it was perfect.

good junk.
today rebecca and i went to the very grand alameda flea market. i'm always drawn to the box of ceramic doll heads. they are so scary, beautiful, and morbid all at the same time.
i bought a handsome set of crisp JW embroidered linen napkins
for my handsome JW.
and a handful of cutlery for 50 cents each.
