So funny,I drove by these trees last week too and I wondered ...Are they all dead? They were starkly beautiful but shouldn't they be leafing out by now?
i KNOW. it looks like the dead of winter trees. . . . you would never know that is S P R I N G !!! is it from el nino or the greenhouse effect ?!
surreal... it looks like it's not a real picture
The farmer's can't get any water - so they have to let their trees die. Hundreds of farmers in the central valley are either letting their land go fallow or letting their trees die due to lack of water particularly in the western part of the valley. Some of this is due to a 3 year drought here in the West, thus cut backs in water allocations since reservoirs are not full, some is due to keeping salinity lowered in the delta and some due to protect a tiny fish in the delta about 3 inches long. Some areas now have 40 percent unemployment. Now we can buy crops from other countries and support those farmer's instead.
oh my. that is the saddest thing i've heard in a long time.
