friday field trip (from the sketchbook).

i love the way land looks from way up in the sky. landscapes become big seamless quilts, and all of the colors of the fabric seem to match perfectly. sometimes it's a good idea to step back and see things in a different light and angle. you can really gain a new perspective. and things might even look a little bit better to you.

I don't fly often, but whenever I do I think it is such a bonus to see the world from so high above. I love your watercolors, too!

The seamlessness/quilt metaphor you speak about is also a beautiful image.

Saw Up In The Air last night and there are shots in it that remind me of your post. You should see it...the film is good and the aerial photography is fabulous.
