friday field trip (from the sketchbook).

2010
berkeley, california

now that i am in my 40's, my eyesight seems to gets WORSE every day. every. SINGLE. day. for now, i am a frequent customer in the walgreens readers department . . . but i can see that soon from now, i will have to go to a REAL optha opta opfa opthe ophthalmologist to get a LEGITIMATE prescription. for me, this eyesight loss is the hardest part about aging. i hate having to rely on a device to read. and my 20 pair of readers currently in circulation ALL seem to end up in one corner of the house (which sucks when you live in a 3 story townhouse), or going missing completely. very frustrating.

I'm 25 and on Monday I was told I needed progressive lenses.

I can't wear contacts and LASIK is not an option.

Thanks to my incredibly bad nearsightedness, I get to wear those awful things before I hit 40 (okay, six months early)! But, those stylin' lenses do give me hope ...

I've had expensive glasses; trifocals and bifocals, lost an expensive pair last month, only to discover I only need readers: $1 a pair at the dollar shop.

"Real" glasses are So expensive, and you will only have one pair, which will be left in the corner with the readers on the third floor... (we have 3 floors, too).

I lost my latest pair even though I had a fancy chain to hold them: lost them both.

I'll keep the readers.

Yes, it's a whole new world of fashion statements when the eyses start changing. They annoy me most in the studio...but I can't work without them now :(

just don't try multi-focal, they are difficult to get used to. stay with one for distance and one for reading, you will be much much more happier.
