an army of 100 handmade porcelain mini cups are marching over to recchiuti chocolate confections for a special mother's day gift box. as much as i am trying to steer away from production work, there is something satisfyingly methodical about making 100 of the same thing. plus, i couldn't resist working with jacky and michael recchiuti. sorry if you are one of the wholesale or production orders out there that i've had to turn down, but this one was too sweet to pass up.

i love drawing candy, maybe even more than i like eating it (i have a savory tooth, not a sweet tooth). i can spend hours in a confectionery with my sketchbook. the smells, the visuals, . . . pure sweet heaven. i sketched these at recchiuti confections in san francisco. michael recchiuti makes some of the most amazing looking AND tasting sweet treats you will ever put in your mouth. perhaps your sweet mom would like something sweet for mother's day?
