EVERY morning, my husband leaves me the perfect cup of tea on my bedside table (this is no easy feat . . . 2 tea bags steeped for 4 minutes, a cup of non-fat powdered milk, a dash of organic grade B maple syrup all elegantly whisked and concocted in a mason jar or pint glass and served to me piping hot). and in his quest to get me to eat food before 2 pm, he will sometimes leave me a morsel of food or a smoothie. today he left these soft boiled eggs. i thought the colors and the composition were ever so photo-worthy. isn't he a good egg ?

put your eggs in one nest.
sometimes i like to make seasonal work. it gives me the sense of a time frame and allows me to keep moving forward. i wasn't sure these would be finished in time for Easter, but they just made it out of the kiln (with a week to spare). they are fired 3 times. i've recently discovered gold luster and though it is quite tricky to work with, i love the results.

eggs in one basket.
i made 100 "eggs" in a nest to give as our wedding favors, each with a different word. my future-husband and i came up with 100 verbs pertaining to a positive relationship. sounds like a big task, but we actually did it in one sitting. coincidentally, these eggs-in-a-nest are featured in this months brides of northern california magazine.
